Since last more than a decade, Expert Medicolegal Consultancy (EMC) is practicing INSURANCE MEDICINE and providing all the much needed help to the insurance companies as regards the medical aspects of insurance, both life and general.

We believe that medical science is the basis for providing fair and accurate pricing, underwriting of applications and claim service.

Our focus is to provide services involving the science of risk selection, underwriting and claims for life, disability and long term care. We also provide liaison and speakers to the public, arbitration and advocacy to the insurers and to other organizations.

We serve as advisors for underwriting and consultants for claims and disability management. Other roles include pre-insurance health check ups, TPA audits of the settled claims, Hospital infrastructure audit, verification of the admissions for cashless on day to day basis, medical and actuarial research, claim investigations, underwriting guideline development, and as professional liaison to the insurance community and regulatory agencies.

Expert Medicolegal Consultancy (EMC) believes that medical science which is a science involved in births, lives, deaths, accidents, disabilities (congenital or otherwise), suicides, homicides, is the basis for the practice of insurance medicine. The knowledge about the Illnesses i.e. Origin –Progression of the Diseases, their Complications and most relevant in Insurance Perspective- The Proximate Cause of the Disease. EMC also is well aware of the ways and means adopted by not only the doctors and hospitals but also the associated agencies of insurers which eats into the interests of the chief insurer. We believe that EMC must use medical science to support the insurance industry in providing fair and accurate pricing, underwriting and claims service for the insurers.

The “MEDICOLEGAL” term used in our name has been deliberately used to distinguish ourselves from any other agency claiming to be providing services to the insurance company, as we also deal with not only the medical, forensic investigations but also the legal aspects of insurance. We can assure of it, because we, the directors of EMC, ourselves are involved in providing services to this sector by virtue of our post graduate qualifications in Forensic Medicine, Investigations as well as law and experience of over a decade and a half in the field of insurance.

EMC directors and coordinators have held critical and influential positions within most of the major government hospitals in India, as well as in neighboring countries.
